Video and Animation for the Disapproval-Respect Model of Tolerance at Kiel University

Tolerance is a complex concept with various meanings in both everyday language and academic research. At the Tolerance Research Unit of Kiel University, Prof. Dr. Bernd Simon and his team pursue a specific theoretical approach — the disapproval-respect model of tolerance, developed at their institute.

We created an animation and video for Kiel University to explain this model and the research project to the interested public.

Bernd Simon and his team are confident that the disapproval-respect model will provide a clear, integrated, and empirically sound framework for understanding tolerance. The project, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), draws on contributions from seven disciplines: Psychology, Philosophy, History, German Studies, Islamic Studies, Protestant Theology, and Business Administration.
